Update, 10 August 09

Black Beauty is currently in bits having its lining added and chassis painted, we have also added some plants at the back of the railway near the church, and the Old Catton Light Railways newest operational loco visited.

Visit to Fundenhall

On Sunday (2nd August) we visited Fundenhalls annual 'steam day', our locos that visited was: Black Beauty, our two Piko 218s, Frank S and Charles - our traction engine, our Panorama carriages and IoM carriages also visited along with the hoppers, later in the week I will post a selection of photos from the day but for now here's some of our locos and stock running the the FR.

Another new loco arrives!

Another new loco has arrived on the S&N and now settled in well, the loco is a 2-4-0 playmobil tender engine, its become number 15 and we have named it "Black Beauty" - after a horse...

The loco runs very well and will be a popular performer on the railway. No. 15 will also be visiting the Fundenhall Railway in a few weeks time... our other locos and stock that will visit will be, our IoM carriages, our mainline Panorama carriages, our hoppers, two 218 diesels, Cambrai, and if room in the car Frank S!!!

More work, more play

Sunday just gone (28/06/09) we had a small running day with owners and locos from the Fundenhall and Raglen Hall Railways, Malcolm of the Fundenhall Railway kindly isolated all the sidings on the railway. It was classed as a "small loco day" and locos visiting included a superb scratch built W&U steam tram from Fundehall which after 20 years has only recently been completed, and playmobil tender engine also from Fundehall, while American switcher locos and L&B Lyn visited from Raglen Hall.

Its only a few weeks till we will be visiting Fundenhall and then its our last open day of the year! doesn't time fly?

Charles visits The Ashmanhaugh Light Railway

Charles our Mamod traction engine visited The Ashmanhaugh Light Railway-a 7 1/4inch gauge railway near Wroxham today (27/06/09). The loco was steamed up twice, and will probably visit again later in the summer. The Ashmanhaugh Light Railway is were I go most Saturdays to play with slightly larger trains... We have open days once a month and we now have about half a mile of track! more info can be found on the website: http://www.ashmanhaughlightrailway.co.uk/

Weybourne gains a siding

Last weekend a point and siding was installed at Weybourne, this runs along the back of the station. Since the photos were taken ballest has been laid, as a conclusion the siding has deffently improved the appearence of the station. Eventually an engine shed will be built here. The siding will also be a good steaming bay for when our live steam loco arrives later in the summer.
