Update - 16th May

The final two coaches today came out of our works in cream and green livery making a set of four. These will be on loan to us for the summer in return for the work we have done on them

Royal Wedding

On the evening of Friday 29th May, we ran a special train to celebrate the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The loco hauling the train being the ever popular Merlin Mayflower class "Marco Polo" which is on long term loan to us from the Dibden Valley Railway.


Fundenhall Visit

On Easter Bank Holiday Monday we made a visit to the Fundenhall Railway. We took along our rake of IoM coaches and steamer Edrig Class "Little Nellie"

Easter Steam Day - 9 Live Steam Locos Attend!

We held our Easter Open Day on Easter Sunday which then turned into a 'Steam Day', with 9 live steam locos running, including 2 Merlins and a Pearse Earl.




Merlin Mayflower "Marco Polo" to visit

Merlin Mayflower No. 362 "Marco Polo" will be visiting the railway for the foreseeable future from the Dibden Valley Railway

"Whitlingham Lakes" visits Butterely

On the 17th April Ragleth Class "Whitlingham Lakes" visited Butterely Garden Railway and this time in working order!

Spring had Sprung!

Spring has now sprung on the S&NLR and yesterday saw two steam locos running a mixed service train, these were resident Edrig class "Little Nellie" and visiting Merlin class "River Test", now better weather is upon us the railway will be tidied up ahead of our Easter Open Day.
