Locomotive/rolling stock update:
Work has been progressing well, Annabel is now finished and has her new coal bunker and side skirts fitted in time for our Easter Open Day, but has not yet run on the railway.
Charles our Mamod Traction engine has finally had its gauge glass repaired after it melted at a steam up after Christmas. The traction engine is due to have a steam test over the next week or so to check its fit to steam up at the open day.
Three Isle of Man four wheeled carriages should be arriving on the railway sometime in April and these will look superb behind Cambrai and the live steamer that will arrive later in the year.
Easter Open Day:
As always the owners of Fundenhall Railway and Raglen Hall Joint Railway will be in attendance with visiting locos and rolling stock, its also hoped some other locos will come from other railways in East Anglia, but have not yet confirmed they can attend.
We will also welcome some members of The Ashmanhaugh Light Railway and we hope you enjoy your visit to our little railway. http://www.ashmanhaughlightrailway.co.uk/
Other:
In other news 2009 will see the street scene being created as well as a new siding being installed, the year will also see lots of plants being put in around the railway - a woodland will be created at the 'back' of the railway near the church so the curve will look less wind swept and will also make Kelling Halt and woodland fit in better - the woodland will also include a small cottage.
Sprowston station car park will also expand a bit to allow the railways bus to stand on show.
It is hoped that all of the above will be completed or partly for our August Open day.
